About the Charging Stations

The City of Lenoir is home to the first operational Electric Vehicle Charging Station funded through Duke Energy's Charging Infrastructure Support Project

The City of Lenoir received a $5,000 grant to develop the station, and the City Public Works Department worked on the infrastructure for the station. The station, located in the parking lot at the intersection of Harper Avenue and Boundary Street, is the first operational station funded through Duke Energy's Charging Infrastructure Support Project. This station was opened in March 2017.

The City received a second grant for $10,000 from the State of North Carolina Level 2 Charging Infrastructure Program. The used used those funds to install another city-owned charging station in 2023.
