MATTHEW "BOO" Lawrence Powell
Matthew “Boo” Lawrence Powell, age 33, of Granite Falls passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. He was born August 4, 1988 in Caldwell County to Jackie L. and Carole Keenan Powell. He is preceded in death by one infant brother, Jonathan Powell; grandmother, Mabel Powell; and grandfathers, Ed Powell and Bill Keenan.
Matthew was well known and loved by all who had the pleasure of being around him, he was humorous- especially with his witty and smart comebacks. He truly loved people, making new friends and even more so being the center of attention. He loved to cook for others and was quite the grill master. He enjoyed fishing with his best friend-his dad and spending time with the ones he loved. He will be remembered for his love of music and singing, the unwavering love and devotion he had for his family and friends, and most importantly the love he had for the Dallas Cowboys. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his parents include two sisters, Katie Leigh Chambers of Granite Falls, and Angela Reid of Lenoir; one niece, Adelynn Chambers who lovingly called him “Silly”; three nephews, Josh, Michael, and Joseph Mann; grandmother, Nancy Keenan of Lenoir; and numerous beloved friends and extended family.
No services are planned at this time.
