Mayor Pro Tem Crissy Thomas and Councilman Rev. Ike Perkins will be handing out FREE turkeys during the Drive-Thru Turkey Tuesday tomorrow, Nov. 22, 2022, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center.
This is the 8th Annual Turkey Tuesday event. Mayor Pro Tem Thomas, Councilman Perkins, and volunteers will hand out free turkeys to local families in need while supplies last. Turkey Tuesday starts at 5:00 pm.
Residents can drive (or walk) to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, and pick up a free turkey for Thanksgiving. Mayor Pro Tem Thomas and Councilman Perkins ask that each person only take one turkey per family.
"We operate on an honor system," Thomas said.
This year, residents can stay in their vehicle and drive through the parking lot to pick up turkeys. There is a maximum of four turkeys per car if four adults are in the vehicle and not in the same household. Residents can also walk up and receive one turkey per adult.
Drive-Thru Pickup Route
The Turkey Tuesday pickup route will go counter-clockwise around the Martin Luther King Jr. Center parking lot. Drivers should exit right out of the parking lot, and turn right onto Greenhaven Drive when leaving.
