Mayor Joe Gibbons, on behalf of City Council, proclaimed Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, as GivingTuesday in Lenoir. GivingTuesday is a day set aside to encourage residents to give back to their community any way they can.
Mayor Gibbons read and presented a GivingTuesday proclamation to Jamie Willis, Executive Director of United Way of Caldwell County, during Council's regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022.
"GivingTuesday is much in the same spirit [of United Way]," Willis said. "Think about what you’re passionate about ... support those things in the community, and people will be all the better for it. You can give money, time, or you can advocate for a cause, and that so important for our non-profits."
The United Way of Caldwell County works with local programs and non-profits to provide resources to individuals and families in crisis while working year-round to improve community conditions.
