The Neon Night Ride is back!

Do you like riding bicycles? Do you like riding bicycles? What about glow sticks and foam parties? If so, you don't want to miss the 2nd Annual Neon Night Ride in Lenoir, NC!

The Neon Night Ride will be from 8:00 to 10:00 pm, Friday, June 2, 2023. The event is free and the first 50 people who register will be entered to win a free bicycle light.

The ride covers about four miles on the Lenoir Greenway. It starts and finishes at the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex on Zacks Fork Road.

"We encourage riders to decorate their bikes before the ride, so you're ready to go when we start. I'd also suggest you wear a head lamp," Event Coordinator Joshua Harris said. "But, if you don't have decorations, we still want you to come. We'll have free glow sticks you can use to light up your bike, and we're giving away some bike lights."

Decorations can include glow sticks and necklaces, LED lights, glow-in-the-dark tape, headlamps, and any other stuff that glows. Make sure all decorations are secure. The City will provide free glow sticks for anyone who needs them while they last. Riders can decorate their bikes from 8:00 to 8:30 pm.

The Neon Night Ride will start at 8:30 pm sharp. The ride will go from the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex to the Powell Road Greenway parking lot and back. There will be lead and tail riders to keep the group together. Once at the Powell Road parking lot, riders will take a short break and then head back to the soccer complex. The event will finish with a free glow foam party by Hype Nation Events.

"We had a great time last year, and I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun this time, too," Harris said. "Come check out the greenway and enjoy a nighttime ride. Also, please wear a bicycle helmet."

There are a few rules for the ride:

  1. Bicycles only
  2. No walking
  3. No skateboards
  4. No pets

Visit the following link to register for the event and get entered to win a bicycle light, Neon Night Ride 2023 Registration. You must be present to win.

The Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex is located at 1050 Zacks Fork Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
