Stay in the loop with CodeRED Emergency Alerts and Notify Me

CodeRED Notify Me

If you want to stay in the loop about what's happening in the City of Lenoir, you need to sign up for CodeRED and Notify Me.

CodeRED and Notify Me serve two different communication functions. Staff uses CodeRED to send out emergency alerts and general announcements to all residents. Notify Me is a subscription service. Residents can sign up to receive notifications about City news, upcoming events, job openings, and more.

There are a couple ways to sign up for CodeRED. Text "LenoirCodeRed" to 99411, click the "Sign Up" button in the widget below, or visit

City staff recommends creating a managed account with CodeRED. A managed account allows users to keep their contact information up-to-date. It’s important to maintain updated contact information, otherwise users may not receive emergency alerts and other important announcements. CodeRED alerts are sent via voice phone message, text, and email. Visit to learn more about CodeRED.

Notify Me

Residents can use Notify Me to sign up for more than 30 different alert categories including updates about City programs, job openings, news, upcoming events, fitness class schedule changes, and more.

Signing up is easy. Just enter an email, or email and mobile number, then select the alerts you want. Confirm the selections in your email or on you phone and you’re done. The next time staffs sends out an update, you’ll get the notification via email or text. Click here to visit the Notify Me page.
