Neon Night Ride
Friday, June 3, 2022
Light up the night at the Neon Night Ride. Bring your family and your glowing bikes to the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex at 8:30 pm for a fun, family-friendly ride in celebration of World Bicycle Day.
This ride will have both a lead and tail riders to keep us together as a group. We encourage you to decorate your bike ahead of time but in case that isn’t an option, we will have some glow items available.
The Neon Night Ride will begin at 9:00 pm sharp, starting at the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex and making a loop on the Greenway. The first 50 people who register and show up for the event will receive a free spoke light.
Glow-in-the-dark bike gear and flashing lights are encouraged. You can use the following to light your bike:
Please bring a bicycle helmet.
Allowed bikes: Single bicycle, single bicycle with child in tow, tandem bicycle
Prohibited bikes: Bicycle with training wheels, tricycles
No pets: For the safety of riders and your family pet, please leave your pets at home.
World Bicycle Day
In April 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 3 as International World Bicycle Day. The resolution for World Bicycle Day recognizes "the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that it is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport."
